I am not sure whether it’s staying in multiple hotels over a large area over the last few months, or varying degrees of rooms I have had, but I now feel somewhat qualified to tell you what a poor hotel room is in the Midwest. To be fair I haven’t had anything that bad, such as bugs or too dirty of rooms. On the other hand I have been surprised to get a fishing themed room with multiple sinks… or today’s new low a 10′x14′ Microtel room.
I’ve always heard comedians make fun of the local Microtel, about how they need to step out of their room to turn around and the likes. Heck, before today I didn’t really know single rooms existed in hotels. In between the desks that aren’t high enough to sit under, or the tv sitting precariously on a closet, I will be paying the extra $5 out of my pocket if it means I get to stay a crossed the street.
Am I being to picky for a place my office secretary put me up into? Or having a “micro” anything seem like it’s cheaping out going to far?
