Mobile Websites.

Normally, when something gets customized for a purpose it is usually better than the run of the mill default issue. One item that I find that this rarely true for is mobile websites, which are simply the regular website setup for cellphones. Here are a few that seem to work alright by me:

  • CNN
  • Facebook – After a ton of iterations!

Yep, that’s right only two that I have every used seem to do the trick. Ones that really drive me wild are specific purpose websites that seem to lose their function when you are using the mobile interface. Some of the worst offenders are news websites with pop up adds, banking/money related websites that lack serious features, even most blogs and webpages that really disable any browsing features. My main frustration is that mobile websites are supposed to be making your experience better, but usually are a hindrance due to limited information and needing to load more screens to accomplish the same tasks.

What do you think? Do you use any outstanding mobile websites or are you in the same boat as me and haven’t been impressed yet?
