Ever since I was a little kid, I have always heard single old women that live with cats as “a crazy old cat lady” mostly due to them being fairly antisocial and of course… owning a lot of cats. The more and more we find out, cats actually carry a protozoan called Toxoplasma gondii that leads to toxoplasmosis which actually causes a lot of symptoms like blindness and brain damage. That part we have know for a long time, now they are finding out that this disease can actually cause you have a desire to own cats! They have done tests on rats that contracted this diease, and they too enough the company of cats often turning out to be fatal.

Moral of the story? If you like cats, hopefully you like them for the right reasons not because you have caught a harmful protozoan. Why don’t we ever hear of crazy cat guys? Or men just prefer dogs?
