There is a lot of different things that bother me when it comes to how politics are presented in the media today. You can find them quite easily watching any news show or picking up a newspaper. My newest pet peeve is the one I am going to talk about today: Fact Checks. I don’t know whether these are really easy to right a story about or they are a way to make your news outlet seem less bias, but they seem to be gaining popularity and prevalence very quickly.

A few pointers for writers of fact check articles or presenters of these over the nightly news:

Don’t try to present fact checks with a political slant, makes people not believe any of them.

Don’t use your opinions to “prove” whether something is true or not.

Quit using the term fact check.
