Work Place Safety.

Empty CaseWorking in a building with several lawyer’s offices, I thought that the building maintenance would have been more concerned with an empty fire extinguisher case. When I see things like this there are only a few scenarios that could have occurred and most of them a little off putting:

  • There was a fire, and I didn’t know about it.
  • There is going to be a fire… and I don’t know about it.
  • People are stealing things that aren’t nailed down in our office.
  • The fire extinguisher has taken a month long vacation to get recharged.

With most public/commercial building being made out of nonflammable materials, I am not concerned enough to make any phone calls and see how the whole ordeal or lack there of plays out.

Do you take note of safety features around your workplace or lack their of? Would you be concerned if the office fire extinguisher turned up missing?
