Everyone has seen or heard those advertisements for visiting different states, and that some of them are definitely trying a lot harder than others. I probably shouldn’t have been caught off guard when a giant billboard truck (pictured) had shown up in my neighborhood completely hiding houses and encouraging everyone to go to North Dakota for blocks around. Odds are it was moving truck with people moving out of North Dakota which seems a bit surprising to me, seeing as North Dakota seems like a better place to live than visit for multiple reasons.
I am used to seeing ads relating to Animal Testing, Not Animal Testing, and Rehab centers so I find giant tourism ads a little more appealing than a Smoky the Bear sign telling me not to start forest fires in the most urban area of Minnesota.
Is a giant truck with nearly a full size billboard on the side really a good advertisement if it is parked in a residential neighborhood for days? Does the content of the ad matter?
