MnDOT Warnings Effective?

I was under the impression that when MnDOT did work on 94 through the Lowry Tunnel or in high traffic flow areas and opted to do it at night, that they were doing it for the convenience of the traveling public. After having a wild adventure of a Saturday trying to navigate from point a to point b to point c I realized that they may not be so customer one would expect with whatever construction equipment that is supposed to be doing work is sitting empty at 10 pm.

Starting at point A this morning south of the 35E/94 Commons I had to make it out Woodbury way, after having usual path being blocked by road signs I found it even more difficult that the City of St. Paul had allowed Shepard Road to be closed for some sort of fun run or something virtually cutting all major traffic lines through the the City. After my meeting was over in Woodbury I was headed to some western suburbs conveniently located along I-394/ US 12, unfortunately I wasn’t filled in that they were also pulling separate shenanigans on the western side of the river by shutting down I 94 westbound on and off to the other side of Minneapolis. Other than having to accomplish my trip almost purely on surface streets, this closings and lack of construction is going to continue until 5 am on Monday… that’s right 57 hours of closing a major interstate with low/non existent warnings.

Did you feel like there was effective warning to let people know about these massive amounts of concurrent closings? Did you get tangled into this mess?
