Sports Jerseys

While I was out on the town today, I noticed a few people wearing sports jerseys. I am not sure of anyone that can go to work wearing one of these, or anyone who would think that wearing something consisting of plastic and elastic would be comfortable to wear. But who am I to say what is comfortable for someone else? I can’t, but I can say there are multiple times when wearing any sort of sports jersey will make you look “ultra casual“.

  • Any place that you can’t have alcohol in your hand, you probably shouldn’t be wearing one.
  • When it is out of season i.e. football/hockey in the summer, baseball in the winter.
  • When you aren’t directly going to or returning home from a sporting venue, I don’t need to parade around in a shirt that lets people know my heroes are adults playing children’s games for large sums of money.

Other than lending a helping hand to terrible looking appearance, most jerseys are super expensive and have no more purpose than a t-shirt with an team emblem on it. Does buying an “authentic” jersey give you a better hope of them deciding to call you out of the stands and cover left field for an inning at league minimum? Don’t think so.

Are you a fan of owning/wearing sports jerseys? When do you think is an appropriate time to don these clothing articles?
