USPS Order Online.

StampsNote: I don’t know why I have been dealing with the post office so much lately, and promise I won’t have much to say about them after this.

The other day I realized I was depleting the themed stamps that the Wife had purchased like Gregory Peck and Pioneers of Industrial Design. I figured I owed it to myself to and the Wife to pick up some cool stamps of my own. I’ve never liked walking into  a post office to buy stamps due to the cool looking ones always being hidden, and if you ask to buy them they always offer the Liberty Bell or American Flag stamps. Well, that and talking to the employees makes me feel like I am getting ripped off slightly.

So I decided to go the only route possible that I wouldn’t need to talk to a postal employee yet would give me the stamps that I wanted… from the picture it’s clearly my favorite actor, and favorite painter. Both designs were available online and within minutes I had my order placed and confirmed only costing $1 more for handling than if I had driven to the store and had waited in line. It doesn’t hurt that I like getting things in the mail also.

The downside to the process is that it took the stamps almost a week to get to my house which makes this service fall from “excellent” to “I need to plan ahead” to order stamps this way. The packaging was awesome, if you are a stamp collector and want to keep them in pristine shape this is a good way to order them.

Would you order stamps online? Do you care what is on the stamp that you mail out to people for different occasions, or don’t you even notice what is on the envelope when you get mail? Would you use this service?
